You can.

You need to keep enough space on your hard drive to the old and the new operating system.

Insert the disk into the drive (while in Windows) and start the process. Who will be a custom installation. You can choose the format and install Win7, or easy to install Win7 on the appropriate partition.

When installed in an existing partition, rename the directory in Windows Vista Windows.old. You can even copy files later outside the directory, but Vista will not be fully operational and in Windows 7

You still have to reinstall all applications to detect, because it is a new installation.

Of course, if you decide to format and partition the hard disk orcompletely delete the old operating system.

I ran an upgrade / reinstall of Windows Vista x64 Ultimate X64 Win7 Professional. I deleted my repertoire Windows.old yet, but I'll probably play on my screen in front of the old system folder.

To be honest, I did not buy a full version of Windows for many years. I think the main difference is that if he had an operating system, you need the full version, and if you had a glimpse of Windows is installed, you can upgrade.

In the past, trying to think a few tricks and a trick Windows Update to upgrade an operating system, it was when there was none. The upgrade would install a complete operating system. Both operating systems rULD differently if they must, even if it really something to upgrade.

Vista Upgrade allowed him to do a full installation in a completely new system. I do not know whether it was intentional or a mistake by Microsoft. So I installed Vista on a new system. Completed, the only difference between Vista and Windows Vista upgrade was the price.

Upgrade to Win7, I have not tried it on a hard drive bare machine, but could, just to see if I May

To perform a clean installation, you must buy the full version. The update can not be installed .. Cleanliness
The full version allows you to "upgrade" (you can change the settings from another operating system to keep), full version, you can install correctly .... Update is a waste of money, how you can fix your PC, should have gone the full version as well ..

XP upgrade version of Windows 7 are people who have already or Vista.

You can perform a clean installation, you simply select clean / custom install when you pop the CD.
